What we nurture

The Gifts of Childhood

Independence

Children learn to do for themselves — pouring, buttoning, choosing their own work — and discover the deep confidence that follows.

Community

In mixed-age classrooms, children learn they belong — caring for one another, leading, and being gently led in turn.

Generosity

Through everyday acts of contribution, children learn the joy of giving — caring for their classroom, helping younger friends, and discovering that their contributions matter.

Our story

The Children's House

La Casa dei Bambini is Italian for “a children's house” — the name Maria Montessori gave her very first classroom in Rome in 1907. For over twenty years, families from Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, and surrounding communities have trusted us with their youngest learners. We are a true children's house — a place sized, paced, and prepared for the child. Our classrooms follow authentic Montessori principles — uninterrupted work cycles, carefully prepared materials, and mixed-age communities where children learn from and with one another.

Our teachers don't hurry childhood. They observe it, protect it, and quietly make room for it to flourish.

Finding the right fit

Is La Casa dei Bambini the right fit?

Choosing a school is about more than finding a place for your child to spend the day — it is about finding a community that shares your family's values. We view education as a partnership between school and home, where families and teachers work together to support a child's growing independence, responsibility, and love of learning.

Our families are often drawn to:

Respectful, child-centered education
Independence and self-confidence
Meaningful family involvement
A peaceful and collaborative community
Growth that lasts beyond the classroom

If these values resonate with your family, we would love to meet you.

The best way to understand a Montessori classroom is to stand quietly in one. Tell us a little about your family and we'll find a time for you to visit.

We believe admissions is a conversation, not a transaction. As you learn about our school, we're getting to know your family too — together we'll explore whether La Casa is the right environment for your child, and whether our community is the right fit for you.
